Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 July 2026

Kognitiv Learn is a structured learning and assessment platform for O-Level and A-Level students and teachers. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and readable.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address, and optionally a phone or WhatsApp number.
  • Enrollment and subject choices: the exam board, level, subjects, and components you study.
  • Study activity: question attempts, self-marks, timings, and flags you set while practising.
  • Uploaded photos of your handwritten working, when you ask for AI feedback.
  • Payment records for subscriptions. Card details are handled by Paddle, our payment provider, and are never seen or stored by us.
  • Basic analytics and cookie data about how the platform is used.

How we use your data

  • To run your account and deliver the study plans, trackers, and analytics you signed up for.
  • To generate feedback on your uploaded working and track your progress over time.
  • To process payments and manage your subscription.
  • To send service messages, and optional study reminders if you opt in.
  • To improve the platform, using aggregated usage data.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Legal bases

We process your data on three bases: your consent (for example, when you upload a photo of your working or opt in to reminders), performance of our contract with you (providing the service you pay for), and our legitimate interest in keeping the platform secure and improving it. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting support.

AI processing of your work

When you upload a photo of handwritten working, that image is sent to an external AI provider (OpenRouter, which routes the request to the model that marks it) together with the question and its mark scheme, so the model can compare your method against the scheme. We do not send your name, email or any other account identifier with it. Uploads are stored privately against your account in our own storage, are visible only to you, and are not shared publicly or used to train any AI model.

AI feedback is assistive only and may contain errors. Treat it as a study aid, not an official mark.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers we need to run the platform:

  • Supabase, which provides our hosting, database, and file storage.
  • OpenRouter, which routes your uploaded working to the AI model that generates marking feedback.
  • Paddle, our payment provider and merchant of record, which processes your payment and holds your billing details.

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We never sell your data.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active so your progress history keeps working. If you delete your account, or ask us to, we delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep limited records (such as payment records) to meet legal obligations.

Photos of your handwritten working are kept so you can revisit the feedback on an attempt. You can ask us to delete individual uploads, or all of them, at any time by emailing support@kognitivlearn.com, and deleting your account removes them along with the rest of your data.

Security

Access to your data is restricted, uploads are stored privately, and we use industry-standard protections provided by our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep risks low and will notify you of any breach affecting your data where required.

Children and students under 18

Kognitiv Learn is used by students of typical exam ages, from 13 upwards. Where local law requires it, users under 18 should have a parent or guardian's consent to use the platform. Parents and guardians can contact support@kognitivlearn.com at any time to review or request deletion of their child's data. We collect only the data needed to provide the service and never use student data for advertising.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email support@kognitivlearn.com from your account email and we will respond promptly. You can also update most account details directly from your settings.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how the platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the platform from working.

International transfers

Your data is hosted on cloud infrastructure that may be located outside Pakistan. Where data is transferred internationally, it remains protected under this policy and the safeguards of our service providers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. We will post changes on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged in the app or by email.
